I am delighted to share the wonderful news that Andrew Gelman has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences (link).

This is a tremendous and richly deserved honor. Andrew’s election recognizes the depth, originality, and influence of his scholarship, as well as his extraordinary contributions to statistics, political science, and the broader scientific community. His work has brought great distinction to our department and to Columbia, and his intellectual leadership, mentorship, and public engagement have had a profound impact on our field.

We are all extremely proud of Andrew and offer him our warmest congratulations on this exceptional achievement.
