Congratulations to Professor Alberto Gonzalez Sanz for receiving The Premio Ramiro Melendreras Award

Premio Ramiro Melendreras

The Ramiro Melendreras Award has been organized by SEIO since 1984 at each National Conference on Statistics and Operations Research, and it is sponsored by the Ramiro Melendreras Foundation. The Award aims to recognize outstanding emerging careers of SEIO members. Traditionally, it was awarded for work carried out by a young SEIO member. In 2024, the focus of the award shifts to recognize the recipient’s career and the research line of their doctoral thesis. https://www.seio.es/ramiro-melendreras-award/

Eligible candidates are SEIO members who have defended their doctoral thesis by the deadline for applications and not before the corresponding deadline of the penultimate edition of the award. Additionally, candidates must not have turned 40 before the end of the application period and must not have received the award previously.

The selection process will take place in two phases. The first phase is documentary, during which the jury will select up to six candidates to move on to the second phase, where they will present their research line at the Conference. To participate in the second phase, candidates must be registered for the National Conference on Statistics and Operations Research.

The decision on the Ramiro Melendreras Award will be announced during the National Conference on Statistics and Operations Research, and the Jury will consist of the Scientific Committee of the Conference.
