Congratulations to Oliva Bobrownicki, a statistics student from Barnard, for winning second place in the national USCLAP (The Undergraduate Class Project Competition).

In this project, “It’s Time To Come Clean About Cooking,” she applied her statistics knowledge and used machine-learning to study the fatal consequences of dirty fuel and stove use, which kills more people than malaria every year and predominantly affects women and children. Olivia will expand this project this year through her senior thesis. She will also give a plenary talk on her research at the annual eUSR conference.
