Course Objectives:
- The course is designed to give the entering graduate student an overview of the science and profession of statistics and of the particular research and applications inteterests of the Department of Statistics at Colorado State University. Other topics covered include the Departmental computing facilities and the Library facilities.

If you would like your own copy of miktex and ghostview for use on a PC you will need to
- download miktex using anonymous ftp to the site ftp://ftp.math.colostate.edu:/pub/Zube/miktex120e.zip
- unzip the file
- run the setup file called setupwiz
- add c:\texmf\miktex\bin to your path in DOS.
- reboot (miktex will go thru a lot of initialization) once the machine comes back up.
- download ghostscript using anonymous ftp to the site ftp://ftp.stat.colostat e.edu/pub/Zube/pc/95nt/gs601w32.exe
- download gsview using anonymous ftp to the site ftp://ftp.stat.colostate.edu /pub/Zube/pc/95nt/gsv29w32.exe
- run the ghostview file gs601w32.exe followed by gsv29w32.exe
- use defaults when programs asks for input.
- change paper size to letter.
